Due to the Covid pandemic, some rules and procedures had to be adopted in the event to ensure the safety of all athletes, Azores Trail Run® team and inhabitants of the Flores and Corvo Islands. Please read the instructions, respect them and, in case of doubts, contact our team. Stay Safe. Stay Well. Have Fun.

Covid Test

For runners from any region outside the Azorean Archipelago, the presentation of the COVID test with a negative result will be required when collecting the BIBs. We recommend all runners to do the test before the trip, as the results of tests carried out at the airport on arrival in the Azores may be delayed and there is a risk of not being able to participate in the race. Information about how to make the test here.

BIB Collection

The collection of the BIB will be carried out by appointment. (you will be informed about how to book close to the race date). One person can collect the BIB from other runners using an authorizing form (will be sent by email close to the race date and distributed at the entrance to the secretariat location)

Masks

It will be mandatory to use masks to collect the Bib, at the aid station, at the finish line, in any contact with the Azores Trail Run® team or in closed spaces. Don't forget to take the mask to the start line.

Startline

Before the start of the race, the temperature of all runners will be measured. Anyone with a body temperature above 38ºC will be referred to the medical team and prevented from participating in the race. The race will start in batches.

Foods and Beverages in Aid Stations

In the short KV at Flores and at the Corvo stage there will be no food at the aid stations. In the longest distance races (the third stage) there will be only 1 aid station with individual containers with food for each runner. Entry to aid stations will be subject to the use of a mask and the limit on the number of people inside the station.

Finish Line | Awards

The agglomeration of athletes / spectators will not be allowed on finish line, and it will be up to the organization to evaluate according to the available space how many people will be able to stay in each location. There will be no supplies at the end or showers. The delivery of prizes will take place with no podium but only one point of trophy delivery.

The Azores Trail Run® recommends you only share accommodations and meals with members of your family or very close friends and you book restaurants in advance. Keep your masks and hands clean. In case you feel sick or not very well, please contact immediately the Azores Trail Run® team or the Health Services on the island.
